Role Overview
As a Linguist or NLP Language Expert, you will apply deep knowledge of language structure, meaning, and cultural context to multilingual projects. You will examine how language outputs perform across different audiences, identify issues affecting clarity or naturalness, and provide detailed evaluations grounded in language-specific conventions.
This role is suited to professionals with strong multilingual judgment who can assess syntax, semantics, terminology, and regional variation with accuracy. You will contribute to localization, language technology, translation-quality, and research initiatives where precise communication is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate multilingual content for linguistic accuracy, consistency, and fluency.
- Analyze syntax, semantics, morphology, and contextual meaning across languages.
- Identify grammatical issues, ambiguities, and linguistic edge cases.
- Assess idiomatic expressions, dialectal variations, and culturally appropriate language usage.
- Compare and rank alternative translations, responses, and language outputs.
- Document findings and provide clear rationale for evaluations.
- Maintain alignment with linguistic standards and language-specific conventions.
- Support projects involving localization, translation quality, terminology management, and language research.
Qualification
- Educational background in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Translation, Localization, Literature, Modern Languages, or a related discipline.
- Advanced degrees, such as a master’s degree or PhD, are highly valued.
- Experience in academia, localization, language technology, research, or multilingualoperations is strongly preferred.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in linguistics, translation, localization, language research, or related fields.
- Experience working with multilingual content and language-quality standards.
- Experience conducting linguistic analysis, editing, translation review, or terminology management.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Experience handling language nuances, dialects, and contextual interpretation.
Language Proficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Professional proficiency in one or more additional languages is highly preferred.
