Role Overview
As a Real-World Activity Video Contributor, you will capture first-person video footage while completing a variety of everyday activities in your natural environment.
Activities and recording instructions will be provided through a designated task platform. Contributors will follow assigned scenarios and quality requirements to help ensure that the collected footage is varied, usable, and aligned with project specifications.
We are currently hiring contributors who are physically located in the following countries:
- India
- United Kingdom
- Canada
- South Africa
- Australia
- Singapore
- New Zealand
Contributors must apply and participate from the country where they are currently and physically located.
Responsibilities
As a Real-World Activity Video Contributor, you will:
- Record first-person video footage while performing assigned everyday activities and scenarios.
- Use an Insta360 X5 camera attached to a basic head-mounted device, following the project's recording instructions.
- Configure the camera to the project's required resolution, frame rate, stabilization, and file format settings.
- Access and complete assigned scenarios through the designated web-based task queue.
- Follow scenario instructions to ensure sufficient diversity across recorded activities.
- Capture footage in segments of at least 10 minutes per activity, with longer recordings permitted when required.
- Maintain appropriate video quality, including compliance with lighting, framing, device, and recording requirements.
- Manage camera batteries, storage cards, and file transfers so that recording sessions are not interrupted and footage is preserved.
- Complete assigned tasks during both daytime and nighttime periods, as scheduled through the task queue.
- Follow all project instructions regarding acceptable recording environments and activities.
- Avoid recording minors, prohibited content, or other restricted material.
- Submit footage according to established upload and quality processes.
- Participate in required training, onboarding, and project communications.
- Address reasonable feedback or quality issues related to submitted footage when applicable.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Previous professional video production experience is not required. However, contributors must be comfortable operating a 360-degree action camera and following detailed instructions independently.
To be considered, you should have:
- An Insta360 X5 camera (required device). Other camera models and smartphone-only setups are not eligible for this project.
- Reliable access to your Insta360 X5 throughout the project, including adequate battery capacity and microSD storage.
- A smartphone compatible with the Insta360 app for camera setup, pairing, and file transfer.
- The ability to use a basic head-mounted camera attachment during recording.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow scripted scenarios and project instructions.
- Reliable internet connectivity for accessing tasks and submitting required project materials, including large video files.
- The ability to independently manage recording sessions and complete assigned activities.
- Comfort recording everyday activities in your home or daily environment.
- Physical presence in one of the approved hiring countries listed above.
- Availability to attend required project training and begin recording according to the project schedule.
- Availability of approximately 20 hours per week for video collection, subject to task availability and final project requirements.
Candidates with educational backgrounds or professional experience in media, content creation, technology, research, operations, quality assurance, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.

Important Notes
- Contributors must be physically located in the country from which they are applying.
- We are currently hiring in India, the United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, Australia, Singapore, and New Zealand.
- The Insta360 X5 is the only approved recording device for this project. Footage recorded on other cameras or smartphones will not be accepted.
- Applicants may be asked to verify ownership of and access to an Insta360 X5 as part of the screening process.
- Recording must take place within the contributor's country of application and according to project requirements.
- Contributors will be expected to complete a variety of activities rather than repeatedly recording the same activity.
- Task diversity and activity assignments will be managed through the designated project task queue.
Recording requirements may include approximately 80% daytime and 20% nighttime footage, based on task assignments. - Submitted footage will undergo quality review.
- Footage that does not meet applicable quality, technical, or project requirements may not be accepted.
- Contributors must not intentionally record minors or prohibited content.
- Contributors must follow all privacy, consent, safety, and project-specific recording requirements.
- Voice narration or additional audio requirements may apply depending on final project instructions.
- Project requirements, schedules, device specifications, participation volume, and task availability may be adjusted based on operational and client needs.

Compoensation
Actual earnings may vary based on task availability, approved usable footage, productivity, quality performance, project requirements, and business needs.
